Adam “Armada” Lindgren is largely recognized as the best player in Super Smash Bros. Melee today, but Alliance’s top Smash talent recently focused his efforts on helping a fellow colleague in need. Armada got together with Jason “Mew2King” Zimmerman and Danny “UUAA” Diaz to reenact Melee character taunts for charity. (The following video contains NSFW language.)

As noted by Glixel, Melee player Nicholas “Ministry” McGuire underwent cardiac arrest during Beast 7 in February. McGuire suffers from congenital heart disease and was also born missing one major heart valve. He has had two open heart surgeries, one at birth and one in 2000. McGuire remains hospitalized in Sweden in an ICU and is currently in need of two heart procedures, as well as physiotherapy to learn to walk again.

Armada and company’s goal is to raise awareness for McGuire’s plight and help him get a little closer to getting the treatments he needs. The IRL Smash Taunts video is the latest in a series of charity livestreams raising money for his medical procedures. Two weeks ago, Mew2King rewarded donors for their generosity by reciting famous rap lyrics. (This video is also NSFW for explicit lyrics.)

As part of a donation incentive, Armada, M2K, and UUAA conducted an interview with Kevin “PPMD” Nanney, who is looking to return to the Melee scene later this year. And yes, that is Armada conducting the interview while wearing a fox outfit. (Like the others, this video is NSFW for language.)

At the time of this writing, McGuire’s GoFundMe sits at $29,059 of his $200,000 goal.
