Speed option, the right or wrong call?

Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

The most questionable decision of the evening on part of Chiefs HC Andy Reid was to run QB Patrick Mahomes on a third-and-2 speed option play. Mahomes, of course, suffered a concussion on the play and would not return to the game. Obviously, the result of the play wasn't ideal, but there is a growing debate on Twitter over whether or not it was the right call. There's also a debate over whether Kansas City should continue to design running plays for Mahomes. https://twitter.com/realfrankboal/status/1350934580312858624 https://twitter.com/geoffschwartz/status/1350929934873751552 https://twitter.com/JMoyerFB/status/1350927940419268611 https://twitter.com/EmmanuelAcho/status/1350927882621767680 https://twitter.com/bnice19831/status/1350930476027023362

Don't take Tyrann Mathieu for granted

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Tyrann Mathieu continued his stellar 2020 regular-season campaign with a dominant performance in the first game of the postseason. He was flying around the field making plays on the ball and tackling defenders for loss or no gain. Don't take his performance for granted because he is proving to be as crucial to the Chiefs' defense as Patrick Mahomes is to the offense. https://twitter.com/getnickwright/status/1350922623014875141 https://twitter.com/ByNateTaylor/status/1350922444408840192 https://twitter.com/ovintxge/status/1350924570082095108 https://twitter.com/jjones9/status/1350938695680077825 https://twitter.com/vancemeek/status/1350922490554552329

Chad Henne could live out the rest of his days in Kansas City as a king. He'll at the very least be getting free beers and BBQ anywhere he pleases after his clutch season-saving performance in the fourth quarter against the Browns. Things were looking bleak when Patrick Mahomes left the game with a concussion. Henne had an unforgettable sequence of events, beginning when he went diving head-first to try and pick up a first down on third-and-14. He didn't convert, but he had ice in his veins on fourth down too.
