Brevard notes: Rockledge grad Tennison enters transfer portal

Rockledge high school product and former FLORIDA TODAY Defensive Football Player of the Year Ladarius Tennison has announced he will enter the NCAA transfer portal.

Tennison signed with Auburn in 2019 after his Raiders career.

The Auburn safety tweeted that he would be "entering the transfer portal as of (Tuesday). I think it's best that I move on. Again, thank you for a great two years."

This season, he played in 11 of Auburn's 12 games, making 21 tackles. He recorded 4.5 behind the line of scrimmage. His most productive game came against Mississippi State, when he made nine stops, including 2.5 behind the line.

As a Rockledge senior, Tennison was a two-way star, leading the Raiders with 98 tackles and scoring 14 touchdowns.

Brevard native named to all-conference team

Cameron Wicks, who now plays for Lawrence University of Appleton, Wis., was named to the All-Midwest Conference team in a vote of league coaches.

Wicks, from Melbourne Central Catholic, averaged 20.5 yards per kickoff return, and he scored on a 95-yard return against Lake Forest. It was the fourth-longest return in school history.

Additionally, he caught 36 passes for 593 yards and eight touchdowns and also recorded a blocked punt.
