Capcom has announced it will reveal the full details on the Capcom Pro Tour 2017 in late February.

Capcom also confirmed Final Round as the first CPT Premier Event for the second year in a row and that it will be announcing more Premier Events for 2017 before the full reveal.

The timing of the reveal could mean the CPT 2017 might not begin until Final Round, which runs March 10-12. Last year, Ranking Event Cannes Winter Clash in France kicked off the CPT on February 26, eight days after Street Fighter V’s launch. That event is returning February 24-26 but a late February reveal might exclude it from the CPT.

This is the first official announcement from Capcom regarding CPT 2017. Last year, Capcom told Yahoo Esports it was considering a format change to how players qualify for Capcom Cup, with the possibility of removing auto-qualifying bids and moving to a more standardized leaderboard system.

If that’s the case, the winner of Final Round would not automatically qualify for Capcom Cup 2017. Ryan Hart, Ho Kun Xian, and Lee “Infiltration” Seon-woo have won the last three Final Round Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter V tournaments, each qualifying for Capcom Cup.

Final Round is celebrating its 20th anniversary and you can find more details about the event at Smash.gg.
