Deion Sanders has Instagram model Brittany Renner speak with Jackson State football team

Jackson State alum Brittany Renner returned to campus as a guest speaker for the football team.

Deion Sanders had to quiet the players as they applauded Renner when she entered the room.

"Can you introduce yourself?" Sanders asked. "And let's go from step A to Z, because we've got to kind of show these guys the other side of game. And that's why you gracefully blessed us with your presence. So they can understand from your point of view how this game is played."

Renner, an Instagram model with millions of followers, famously said in 2018 that athletes are "really dumb" and women can get paid by having babies with them because they don't use protection during sex.

So Sanders brought her in to share her perspective on relationships, social media, and "game" in general.

"And that's how the game starts, with the phone," Sanders said. "They're going on Instagram and they see you. And what happens? They try to get off in them DM's. And kind of take us on a journey of how this is played out."

Renner responded, saying: "I feel like my DM's, it's like a Nike store, it's nothing but checks."

Sanders jumped in, telling her "hold on" because the players "missed that game." He explained that the "checks" were verification marks, indicating the type of people who are sending Renner messages.

"I'm talking heavy hitters, some of y'all's favorite rappers, NBA players, football players," Renner said. "It's like to me once you've reached that level just of popularity, the world is your oyster and you can do whatever you want."

Renner spoke about the privilege that comes with her looks, saying that she feels like she lives "in Disney World" because she feels like she can do whatever she wants.

"People just want to be next to you, they don't even see you as human anymore," Renner said. "And you can, you know, use it to your advantage, maybe abuse it, or you can you know try to make something happen."

Renner said that "everybody" wants something from relationships and that players need to be aware of what they're getting into.

"So it's like even if we both have our own thing going on, me being with you is a good look because you boost my stock," Renner said. "Just like you boost mine. I boost your stock, you know what I'm saying, it's just that simple. It's kind of like a give and take, but you have to be aware of what you're signing up for. You want to make it to the NFL, and you do understand that there's a lot that comes with that right?

"To be able to decipher who really loves you for you, I think that's the billion dollar question we're all wanting to know."

Sanders nodded and said: "This is how the game is played. Please know that. We're putting you up on game," Sanders said. "Because some of yall are going to make it. I hope and pray that all of yall make it. Even if you make it in the business world, that's a whole other catergory of game too in that world, it's just dressed up a little different."
