Diablo III’s Malthael is the new Heroes of the Storm hero

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls’ final boss is coming to Heroes of the Storm. On Thursday, Blizzard revealed Malthael on the official HotS website, showing off his abilities.

Malthael’s Hero Trait is Reaper’s Mark, which applies a debuff that deals damage over time and allows him to follow up with other abilities. His Soul Rip deals damage to any nearby enemies Marked, healing Malthael for a portion of the damage dealt. Wraith Strike teleports Malthael to an enemy affected by Reaper’s Mark, dealing damage in the process. Death Shroud drops an area of effect spell that applies Reaper’s Mark any enemies hit.

As with most characters in HotS, Malthael has two Heroic Abilities to choose from. Tormented Souls grants him Armor and applies Reaper’s Mark to anyone in his immediate vicinity. Last Rites drops a debuff on an enemy hero, dealing 50% of their missing health in damage after two seconds. If Malthael kills someone while Last Rites is active, the ability’s cooldown is permanently reduced by five seconds, down to a minimum of 15 seconds.
