Valve has announced the format in which it will be revealing the eight teams invited to the upcoming Dota 2 Kiev Major.

The teams will be revealed one at time every five minutes beginning 10:00AM EST Friday via the Winter 2017 Battle Pass Compendium. Users don’t have to purchase the Battle Pass to access the reveal — we managed to take a peek at the countdown screen using the Battle Pass preview feature.

The eight invited teams will be joined by an additional eight teams from the qualifiers for The Kiev Major. Open Qualifiers will run March 6-9, with two winning teams in each region progressing to the Main Qualifiers running March 10-13. China and SEA will have two qualifier spots each up for grabs, while one spot is available in each of the EU, CIS, NA, and SA Qualifiers.

The Kiev Major itself will take place on April 27-30 at the National Palace of Arts Ukraine, with a prize pool of $3 million. The winning team will earn a cool $1 million. The event will be the second major tournament in the 2016-2017 competitive Dota 2 season, following the Boston Major 2016 and preceding The International 2017.
