Valve has released a new update for Dota 2, bringing the game’s version to 7.05. While overall gameplay tweaks are relatively minor, the patch does re-add Treant Protector to Captain’s Mode, just in time for the upcoming Kiev Major tournament.

Treant Protector was previously removed from Captain’s Mode with the introduction of patch 7.00, possibly due to the rework of his Nature’s Guise ability which had been turned into a passive with bash. The hero received a number of nerfs in subsequent patches, which have evidently led to his re-addition to the CM roster.

Doom Guard has also received a number of buffs, with most of his Talent bonuses getting increases. The biggest change is his level 20 Talent, which has been swapped from +25 HP Regen to Devour Can Target Ancients.

Notable item tweaks include buffs to Hand of Midas, which gets a gold bonus increase to 220 from 190. The XP bonus has been reduced to 1.75x from 2.5x, but the overall changes mean the item now scales into late-game better.

Towers have also be tweaked, with their base armor decreased by 2. They will now gain 3 armor per nearby enemy hero, up from 2. The AOE for this bonus has been increased to 1400, up from 1200.

Several other heroes and items have received minor changes. To get more details check out the full patch notes.

The Kiev Major will feature 16 teams competing for a prize pool of $3 million. The main event will take place on April 27-30 at the National Palace of Arts Ukraine. The winning team will score a cool $1 million in prize money. It will be the second major tournament in the 2016-2017 competitive Dota 2 season, following the Boston Major 2016.
