The full roster for Team Onyx, a North American Dota 2 team, has been confirmed by player Jimmy “DeMoN” Ho on Twitter today.

  • Mason “mason” Venne (position 1)

  • Abed Azel “Abed” Yusop (position 2)

  • Kanishka ‘Sam’ “BuLba” Sosale (position 3)

  • Kim “DuBu” Doo-young (position 4)

  • Jimmy “DeMoN” Ho (position 5)

  • Francis “FrancisLee” Lee (stand-in)

The team will be competing in the upcoming Kiev Major 2017 in Ukraine, with FrancisLee substituting for Abed.

All core players in Team Onyx’s line-up possess substantial experience in competitive Dota 2.

DeMoN joins the team after a brief stint with Fnatic, which he joined in September 2016. He captained Philippine team TNC at The International 2016, where they placed equal 7th-8th.

Mason has been in the competitive Dota 2 scene since 2013, and was a stand-in for Evil Geniuses for a brief period in 2014. He is known for playing carry, and will be assuming the position on the Team Onyx line-up.

Abed is a 16 year-old player from the Philippines who was signed to Execration for the majority of 2016, with whom he won the PGL Southeast Asian Championship. BuLba comes over from a 2016 that saw him part ways with Digital Chaos, Evil Geniuses, Team Secret, and Team Liquid.

DuBu is perhaps the least known of the line up. The South Korean player was previously signed to MVP Phoenix, with whom he placed 5th-6th at The International 2016.

DeMoN first announced the team’s four members on January 1, confirming himself, BuLba, DuBu, and Mason as part of the roster.

Hopefully the line-up brings something new to the next big Dota 2 event, the Kiev Major 2017, scheduled to take place April 20-23 in Kiev, Ukraine.
