Dylan Falco joins Fnatic as head coach

Fnatic has a new head coach for its League of Legends team, the organization announced on Tuesday. Dylan Falco, formerly of Team SoloMid, Team Envy, Immortals, and H2K, has been signed to the longstanding EU LCS squad.

Falco has found success on both sides of the Atlantic, spending time as an analyst for TSM and H2K during successful seasons, then moving on to coach Immortals to two playoff runs in their first two splits in the NA LCS. However, his tenure at Team Envy proved to be more difficult, and the team finished in 10th place after the regular season, eventually re-qualifying for the NA LCS through the Promotion tournament.

Fnatic has been spending the break between splits to boot camp in South Korea and find a head coach. According to the org’s announcement, several coaches were tried out during their time overseas. Eventually, Falco was selected.

Fnatic has been without a permanent head coach since Nicholas “NicoThePico” Korsgård stepped down in the middle of the 2017 EU LCS Spring Split. In the meantime, team manager Finlay “Quaye” Stewart has been acting as interim head coach.

In other EU LCS news, Ninjas in Pyjamas purchased Fnatic Academy’s slot and replaced the entire team, while G2 Esports will be playing with a pair of substitutes for the first week of competition. For more, head over to the Yahoo Esports League of Legends hub.
