Esports organizations Echo Fox, Fnatic, NRG Esports, Rogue and Immortals have announced new rosters in time for Vainglory’s Spring Season.

The teams join other established organizations in the competition, including Team SoloMid, Cloud9, G2 Esports, SK Gaming, Team Secret, mousesports and DetonatioN Gaming.

The Vainglory Spring Season begins in March and culminates with the Vainglory World Championship Event in December. Developer Super Evil Megacorp will be hosting a preseason “Run the Gauntlet” invitational in San Mateo at its “Super Evil Lair” for all five new teams.

“These are some of the most diverse and high-profile teams in all of esports,” Super Evil Megacorp CEO Kristian Segerstrale said in a statement. “To have them not only recognize Vainglory’s growth over the past year, but also create their first-ever teams dedicated to a mobile game, means the competition in the 2017 season is going to be more fierce than ever before. These teams are owned and operated by some of the most respected names in sports and entertainment, and there’s tremendous opportunity for everyone involved to usher in the next defining moments of esports.”

Super Evil Megacorp has also revealed Vainglory’s full 2017 esports calendar. More details are available at the official website. The Vainglory 2016 World Championship saw teams fight for a share of the $120,000 prize pool at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

In January Super Evil Megacorp announced the Vainglory Team Franchise Program, which launches this year. Through it, teams will have the option to establish a home city, enabling them to connect with local fan communities and players. Franchisees will not be given an advantage in competition, as they will still need to compete to prove themselves. The program starts in the spring season of 2017.
