ELeague announces $250,000 Injustice 2 World Championship

Turner and IMG have announced their next big ELeague tournament, the Injustice 2 World Championship. The event will serve as the conclusion to the inaugural season of the Injustice 2 Championship Series.

The tournament will feature the top 16 Injustice 2 players from around the world competing for a share of the $250,000 prize pool. As with previous ELeague events, featured matches will be broadcast live on TBS, and the tournament will be broadcast on livestreaming digital platforms.

The ELeague Injustice 2 World Championship will start with Open Qualifiers on Sunday, October 21.

The Injustice 2 Championship Series is a worldwide esports program hosted by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment in partnership with ELeague, ESL, Gamelta esports Professional League, GameStop, PlayStation 4, and Twitch. The league offers both pro and amateur players throughout North America, Europe, and Latin America a chance to compete for a share of the $600,000 prize pool.

The Injustice 2 World Championship marks the fourth game ELeague has a hosted an event for, following on from previous competitions for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Overwatch, and Street Fighter V.

Injustice 2 was released on May 16 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game features a host of both new and returning characters, including DC favorites Batman, Superman, Flash, and Wonder Woman.
