Esports event organizer ESL has announced a new tournament series featuring virtual reality game The Unspoken.

The Unspoken is a fantasy action game developed by Insomniac Games (Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet & Clank) for the Oculus Rift. Players assume the role of a Spellcaster and use different spells to destroy their opponent in a modern arena setting. Think of it as dueling wizards; you can check out the trailer to get an idea of how the game plays.

Those who wish to compete in the tournament can enter in one of 80 participating Microsoft stores across the United States and Canada (excluding Quebec). Eight players will be flown to New York City for the finals, taking place June 3.

The tournament includes a prize pool with more than $7,500 worth of prizes, with the grand prize featuring an ASUS VivoPC X Oculus Ready machine, Oculus Rift and Touch set, and $1,250 cash.

Virtual Reality has been making more headway into esports as of late. Earlier this year ESL and DreamHack announced partnerships with virtual reality viewing platform Sliver.tv, allowing events to be livestreamed in 360 virtual reality.
