Evilbizz Gaming (EVB) has announced it will cease operations after 16 months, leaving top Street Fighter V player Chris Tatarian without a sponsor.

Chris Tatarian also posted on Twitter that he was now a “free agent.”

EVB made a name for itself in the fighting game community, sponsoring players in Mortal Kombat X (including Ryan “Dragon” Walker), Smash 4, and Street Fighter V.

Both Dragon and Tatarian were signed heading into Evo 2016. Dragon finished in top 8 at Evo and third in the most recent MKX Pro League. Tatarian made the trip to Japan for Capcom Pro Tour Premier Event Japan Cup and most recently competed at SoCal Regionals 2016.

Esports in the FGC has been tough to navigate for the teams wanting to enter or remain in the space. Earlier this year, Mad Catz pulled out of the FGC sponsorship business, making top Japanese players Hajime “Tokido” Taniguchi and Kenryo “Mago” Hayashi free agents.
