Evo champ Infiltration says Razer is readying new line of Street Fighter fightsticks

Razer is preparing its next generation of fightsticks and might be unveiling them soon.

“There will actually be a new arcade stick from Razer,” Street Fighter V Evo 2016 champion Seon-woo “Infiltration” Lee told Yahoo Esports at SEAM 2016 in Singapore. “I don’t know when – we’re going to announce it soonish – but I can say to you, it’s definitely coming.”

Infiltration’s reveal is a surprise because Razer went quiet about its plans for a new line of fighting game peripherals after the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One launched. The last line of Razer fightsticks launched during the PS3/Xbox 360 era.

You might recall Razer had been under some scrutiny for some malfunctions during critical moments of fighting game tournaments, including Ultra Street Fighter IV’s grand finals at Evo 2015.

Razer was reportedly testing PS4 prototype fightsticks at Final Round in March. Unfortunately, both Razer Xian Kun Ho and Ai “Fuudo” Keita suffered malfunctions during the tournament. Razer said its prototypes were working “flawlessly” in previous months, but the situation caused Razer to suspend further expansion into the FGC until the problems were resolved.

Infiltration could not provide any details about the new fightsticks but assured us more would be revealed soon.

We have reached out to Razer for comment.
