FaZe Clan’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team has been confirmed for IEM Sydney, ESL Australia announced via Twitter.

The IEM Katowice runners-up saw marked improvement in that tournament following the acquisition of rifler Nikola “NiKo” Kovač. They fell in the finals to Astralis, who will also be attending the Australian tournament. Other teams confirmed for the event are SK Gaming, Renegades, and OpTic Gaming.

There are two more invite slots left, with one spot at the tournament open to whichever team wins the closed qualifier, which is restricted to Australian and New Zealand residents only. The teams in the qualifier are as follows:

  • Tainted Minds

  • Chiefs.ESC

  • Team Immunity

  • Dark Sided

  • Avant Garde

  • Legacy Esports

  • Two more open qualifier slots

The IEM Sydney group stages will be kicking off on May 3, with the grand finals taking place just a few days later on May 7.

In other CS:GO news, the ECS will now be exclusively streamed on YouTube, while Valve has added a brand new map in Canals. For more, stay right here on the Yahoo Esports CS:GO hub.
