Valve has released a new update for Dota 2 which adds Kiev Major 2017 predictions and casters to the Winter 2017 Battle Pass. More information has been revealed by community patch analyst SirBelvedere on Reddit.

Players can open the Compendium section of their Battle Pass the open Player Cards, fill Fantasy Lineups, and enter in their Tournament Predictions. When the tournament’s Group Stage is completed, users will be able to fill out a Bracket Prediction for the Main Event. As usual, the more predictions that are correct, the more Battle Points will be rewarded.

The talent for the upcoming Kiev Major event have also been revealed, as per Dota 2 personality Wykrhm Reddy.

The update also introduced some additional minor UI tweaks, and no gameplay changes were made in this patch.

The Kiev Major will feature 16 teams competing for a prize pool of $3 million. The main event will take place on April 27-30 at the National Palace of Arts Ukraine. The team who finishes in first place will score a cool $1 million in prize money. It will be the second major tournament in the 2016-2017 competitive Dota 2 season, following the Boston Major 2016.

In related Dota 2 esports news, DigitalChaos today announced they were parting ways with their entire Dota 2 team, who has formed a new team named Thunderbirds. DC has signed on the former Team Onyx lineup. Both teams will be competing at the upcoming Kiev Major.
