London-based esports organization H2K has announced it is looking for investment partners to “help take H2K to the next level.”

The announcement is detailed on the H2K website. In it, board co-chairman Richard Lippe revealed that the organization is seeking partners to become become a “top-tier, multi-title organization led by its highly successful League of Legends team.”

At present, H2K also has a team in Infinite Crisis. The organization was first founded in 2003, and its League of Legends team debuted in 2011. It has also had teams in the Call of Duty and Counter-Strike scenes, though they parted ways with those rosters in 2016 and 2014 respectively.

The H2K LoL team most recently competed in the 2017 EU LCS Spring Playoffs, where they placed 5th-6th. The team faced Fnatic in the quarterfinals, ultimately losing 0-3.

Big name investors making moves in esports is nothing new. In March this year esports organization Cloud9 announced it had completed a Series A financing round with FunPlus Ventures. Their rather hefty investor group includes San Francisco 49ers Hall of Famer Joe Montana, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, San Francisco Giants outfielder Hunter Pence, and NBA center Andrew Bogut.
