Blizzard has announced the details for its upcoming Hearthstone Global Games tournament.

As detailed on the official Battle.net website, the tournament will have teams of four players representing 48 countries and a prize pool of $300,000. The team that places first will receive $60,000.

The top ranked player from each eligible country will receive an invitation to represent their national team, while the remaining three players will be chosen through votes from the community. Players will be nominated for voting according to their Hearthstone Competitive points, previous competitive results, and “their standing in the community.” The Overwatch World Cup in 2016 followed a similar voting format to assemble its teams.

More details on voting will be revealed “at a later time.”

Eligible countries include Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic,
Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Netherlands,
Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Spain, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey,
Ukraine, United Kingdom, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea,
Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Argentina, Brazil,
Canada, Chile, Mexico, Peru, and the United States of America.

The tournament will feature three phases before progressing to the finals. All three phases will use a best-of-five, class-vs-class format. Prior to matches starting, the team captain will submit the order of players who will be competing. A PDF with more details on the official rules is available for viewing.
