Hong Kong Gaming Music Festival to feature matches with top veterans like xPeke, Misaya, and Toyz

A Hong Kong Radio and TV Festival will take place from August 4th to August 6th, featuring League of Legends games veteran LoL players from China, Europe, and Taiwan. Top Kpop bands will also take the stage to perform, according to Hong Kong news site, Topick.

The festival will be held at the SMTOWN Special Stage in Hong Kong. Participating League of Legends teams are as follows:

China: Wei “CaoMei” Handong, Teng “Ruo” Yangtianxia, Yu “Misaya” Jingxi, Gao “WeiXiao” Xuecheng, and Feng “Fzzf” Zhuojun. All but Ruo played for the classic Team WE lineup that won the IPL 5 in November of 2012.

Europe: Enrique “xPeke” Cedeño, Lauri “Cyanide” Happonen, Manuel “Lamia” Mildenberger, Kevin “kev1n” Rubiszewski, and Peter “yellowpete” Wüppen. This lineup features three members of the 2011 World Championship Fnatic roster.

Taiwan: Wang “Stanley” Junetsan, Sung “Lilballz” Kuanpo, Lau “Toyz” Waikin, Chen “MiSTakE” Huichung, and Wang “GoDJJ” Yongjie. The Taiwanese lineup features four members from the Season 2 World Championship Taipei Assassins teams.

The detailed format of the event has not been announced other than dates of semifinal and final matches, but the total prize is $38,000. Performances by Kpop groups like Super Junior and EXO will also be featured on the SMTOWN Special Stage during the event. The main website and further details can be found here.

Marcel Feldkamp, former pro player, confirmed the event on Twitter and announced his own involvement. He will be accompanying the European players to Hong Kong.
