Jackson State's Shedeur Sanders is nominated for Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame's C Spire Conerly Trophy

On Monday, Jackson State quarterback Shedeur Sanders was announced as a nominee for The Conerly Trophy, an award given to the most outstanding college football player in the state of Mississippi, selected by each college and university with a football program.

Sanders has made history by leading the Tigers to an undefeated 10-0 season. Sanders is on a record pace with 265 of 375 and 2,862 yards with 31 touchdowns. Jackson State is one win away from regular season perfection as they travel to Alcorn State to play in Soul Bowl on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Sanders has led his team to back-to-back SWAC East division championships and will play in the SWAC title game on Dec. 3.

The Conerly Trophy winner will be announced Nov. 29.

  • Millsaps College – Moïse Tezzo (Wide Receiver/Kick Returner)

  • Mississippi College – Marcus Williams (Running Back)

  • Mississippi State University – Emmanuel Forbes, Jr. (Defensive Back)

  • Mississippi Valley State University – Ronnie Thomas (Defensive Lineman)

  • University of Mississippi – Quinshon Judkins (Running Back)

  • University of Southern Mississippi – Jason Brownlee (Wide Receiver)
