Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey guarantees victory against Patriots
Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey is not taking his own advice.
A week after Pittsburgh Steelers’ Mike Mitchell and Le’Veon Bell all but guaranteed playoff victory, drawing criticism from their own teammates and the Jaguars, Ramsey ignored those warnings, not only guaranteeing a win over the New England Patriots, but ensuring a Super Bowl victory, too.

“We going to the Super Bowl,” he told a crowd of Jaguars fans in Jacksonville, “and we going to win that [expletive].”
This came about five hours after Ramsey admonished the Steelers for their overconfidence:

The Jaguars were installed as early nine-point underdogs in the AFC championship against the Patriots. Of course, they were also heavy underdogs against the Steelers, who spent the week leading up to Sunday’s loss to Jacksonville claiming they too would cruise their way to the Super Bowl.
“We’re going to play [the Patriots] again,” Mitchell told SI.com last week, looking past the Jags. “We can play them in hell, we can play them in Haiti, we can play them in New England. … We’re gonna win.”
Added Bell:

After the Jaguars handed the Steelers a 45-42 defeat, Pittsburgh offensive lineman David DeCastro blasted his teammates for looking past the Jaguars to the Patriots, via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:
“Yeah, it’s embarrassing. It really is, man. It just blows my mind. They beat us 30-9 [Oct. 9], we played like crap and we want to talk about New England!
“I don’t know what to say about that. It’s just stupid. It’s just not what you do. You don’t need to give a team like that more bulletin board material.”
Meanwhile, in New England, you can bet Bill Belichick is pinning Ramsey’s comments to a cork board.
