The gladplane flies once more over Korea. With their 3-1 victory over Kongdoo Monster in the 2017 LoL Champions Korea Summer Promotion Tournament, the Green Wings retain their spot in Korea’s professional league.

After a strong Game 2, the series looked like a quick 3-0 sweep for Jin Air, but Kongdoo came back in Game 3.

In Game 4, Jin Air ran a triple-AD composition with Graves jungle, Corki mid, and Ashe in the bottom lane with a Singed in the top lane for Jeon “ikssu” Ik-soo. Their risky gambit in Champion Select paid off and Jin Air cemented their spot in LCK.

The Jin Air Green Wings have been a staple of Korean LoL since 2013, occupying the unenviable position of playoff gatekeeper for years. This past spring, Jin Air finished in ninth place with a 4-14 series record and were forced to fight their way through the promotion tournament.

Kongdoo Monster still has once more chance to qualify for LCK. They face Ever8 Winners on Saturday. The winner of that series will become the tenth and final team in 2017 LCK Summer, while the loser will go to 2017 Challengers Korea Summer.
