“This year, we’ll be saying goodbye to Justin Wong, Eduardo, Momochi, and ChocoBlanka. But we are bringing in some new faces, which we are very excited to have a part of the Evil Geniuses brand,” EG CEO Peter “PPD” Dager said in a video released by the team.
“I wanted to announce the arrival of our newest fighting game player, ChrisG. We’re super excited to have him on board and we’re excited for what he’s going to do this year in Street Fighter, other fighting games, and especially Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite when it is released. To top off the fighting game announcements, I wanted to let everyone know that your favorite, PPMD, is coming back.”
Well looks like the bags out of the cat. @EvilGeniuses Chris G it is! Can't wait to start traveling again. Definitely gonna be a good year!

PPMD has been unable to compete do to health issues for most of 2016. Shortly after the EG video released, he tweeted an update, stating is imminent.
At my last RT: I'm super excited!! But the return isn't real just yet. I know that's frustrating, it REALLY makes me upset, but it's coming

PR Balrog announced his departure from EG last month, with the intention of competing as an independent.
In addition to the FGC news, EG also confirmed it would no longer compete in StarCraft II with the departure of Chris “Huk” Loranger (who is transitioning to Overwatch) and Geoff “iNcontrol” Robinson.
The team will continue forward with its Call of Duty squad, which competed recently at MLG Vegas, and it’s current Dota 2 roster.
