Kevin Love welcomes Channing Frye back to Cleveland in the best way possible

The Cleveland Cavaliers may have lost LeBron James this offseason, but at least they are getting Channing Frye back. The 35-year-old agreed to a one-year deal to return to the Cavs on Saturday.

While that trade-off might be underwhelming for some Cavs fans, forward Kevin Love had a lot of fun with the news.

How did Kevin Love welcome Channing Frye back to Cleveland?

Love posted a picture on his Instagram account featuring the “Sports Illustrated” cover in which LeBron James announced his return to Cleveland in 2014. But instead of James on the cover, Frye’s face was photoshopped in there.

The cover features the words, “I’m Coming Home,” just like it did with James. There were at least two creative changes made to the photo aside from Frye’s face.

Under the main headline, it says “Kevin Love’s BFF and NBA Champ explains why he is returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers.” There’s also a photoshopped Cavaliers championship ring. Frye was on the Cavaliers when they brought home a title in 2016.

How did Channing Frye respond?

He shared Love’s post on his Instagram and said it was the “best post ever.”

How did LeBron James respond?

James responded to the picture by saying, “C’mon, Kevin Love. He doesn’t deserve this type of greatness of post from you,” according to FTW.

Channing Frye goes back to Cleveland

Frye returns to Cleveland after the team traded him in the middle of last season. Frye averaged five points in a little over 13 points per game in 2018.
