I May continued the trend of upsets in the first round of LPL playoffs by beating QG Reapers 3-1, despite starting with a one game disadvantage. As with many I May sets, the series went the maximum number of games.

Following their victory, the team met with press to talk about picks and bans, their strength in BO5s, and the outstanding performance of I May’s bottom lane. All questions and answers are translated from Mandarin Chinese to English.

In the first game, you picked Zilean. What are these champion’s strengths?

Kang “Athena” Hawoon: Except for some slight disadvantages in the laning phase, the other aspects of this champion are all very good.

You banned Galio in all four games. Why did you decide to do this?

Coach Son “Kezman” Daeyoung: We pay attention to solo queue accounts and noticed that Doinb has been practicing this champion a lot lately. Besides that, when RNG played Galio against us, we lost, so we decided to ban it.

Tu “Ben4” Xincheng never picked Ivern before today, why did he decide to use it now?

Ben4: Our team has a relatively conservative style, but I like to play more aggressively. When I pick this champion, I know I can’t ever beat the enemy jungler, so it makes me control myself.

When IM makes it to five games in a BO5, they have never lost. Coach Kezman, why do you think the team has this attribute?

Kezman: The main reason is that we don’t play well, so we just drag everything out. When you drag it out, your record becomes 50%. So it isn’t that we are experts at BO5s, just that we are able to drag things out.

Shek “AmazingJ” Waiho always picks Nautilus in important matches, but today when the enemy picked Nautilus, you picked Camille. Why did you make this choice?

AmazingJ: Because in the earlier games I didn’t get an MVP, in the last match I just wanted to use a carry type champion and get an MVP. It’s a pity I didn’t get it.

Who do you think played the best in today’s matches?

AmazingJ: The bottom lane. Both of our bottom laners played well in every match today.

Xie “Jinjiao” Jinshan, how do you think your bottom lane played today?

Jinjiao: My support played well, he was very accurate with his abilities, so it was easy for me to also play well.
