Misfits launch Vainglory team in time for Preseason Invitational

Esports organization Misfits, in partnership with NBA franchise the Miami Heat, have announced the acquisition of a Vainglory team.

Misfits has signed the Fates Zero roster and will be debuting the team at the Vainglory Preseason Invitational on February 26. The team joins Fnatic, Echo Fox, NRG, Rogue and Immortals in the competition, whose rosters were only announced this month.

The invitational will be hosted at Vainglory developer Super Evil Megacorp’s “San Mateo Lair” and marks the first invitational featuring these particular teams. It will be broadcast live on the Vainglory Twitch channel, starting at at 11:00 AM PT.

Misfits announced a partnership with the Miami Heat at the start of 2017. The team currently has rosters in League of Legends (EU LCS), Hearthstone, Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm, and Super Smash Bros. The organization was founded in 2016 by Ben Spoont, a Miami native.

Vainglory’s competitive Spring Season begins in March and culminates with the Vainglory World Championship Event in December. The season includes several other established esports team in the competition, including TSM, Cloud9, G2 Esports, SK Gaming, Team Secret, mousesports and DetonatioN Gaming.
