Nintendo’s two new competitive Switch games ARMS and Splatoon 2 are getting their first esports appearances at a pair of tournaments to be held at E3, the premier video game industry trade show.

The Splatoon 2 tournament will feature four teams: Deadbeat from the United States, Dynameu from Japan, Rising Moon from Europe, and Blue Ringed Octolings from Australia/New Zealand. The four squads will play an initial round robin stage, which will seed into a knockout stage. The semifinals will be a best-of-five, while the finals will be best-of-seven. While there’s no prize pool for the victors, they will have their names engraved on “sweet Splatoon 2 trophy.”

The ARMS tournament features eight players, including a handful of well-known members of the FGC. Street Fighter veteran Alex Valle, Smash 4’s Kelsy “SuperGirlKels” Medeiros, and Smash Bros. players Daniel “Tafokints” Lee (who, full disclosure, is also a Yahoo Esports contributor) and Marie-Laure “Kayane” Norindr will face off against four E3 attendees in the exhibition tournament.

Those who are attending E3 can head over to the Nintendo booth on Wednesday, June 14 to play ARMS and attempt to qualify to compete against the pro players.

E3 takes place from June 14-16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Nintendo will be holding a Spotlight, which will show off the upcoming games for the coming year, including ARMS and Splatoon 2.
