The League of Legends weibo published a competitive ruling regarding Oh My God mid laner Xie “Icon” Tianyu. He will be banned from the next best-of-three in the LPL for rude behavior.

According to the LPL official ruleset, line 10.1.3, “players cannot take any action against other players, fans, or officials. Nor can they incite others to take similar action. These actions include ridicule or jeering, interference, and hostile behavior.”

On March 11, before a match against Game Talents, Icon stood up from his station, put down his headset, and appeared to provoke the referee. “After that,” the ruling stated, “Icon began ignoring the referee’s instructions, refused to acknowledge him, and refused to communicate with the referee.” As such, the LPL officials ruled that he will be banned from Oh My God’s next best-of-three.

The ruling concluded that this kind of behavior is “contrary to the professional athlete’s spirit.”

OMG play their next match on March 16th against EDward Gaming. Icon will not be allowed to participate.
