Spanish organization Origen has announced the departure of four of their players, leaving founding member Enrique “xPeke” Cedeño Martínez as the team’s only remaining member. The announcement came via Facebook page, a day after players had tweeted that they were now free agents.

Mid laner Yoo “NaeHyun” Nae-hyun, jungler Jakub “Cinkrof” Rokicki, and AD carry Erik “Tabzz” van Helvert were released due to the relegation clause in their contracts. Top laner Max “Satorius” Günther’s contract had already expired. Origen went on to add that coach Titus “LeDuck” Hafner’s contract expires on April 30, and would likely not be renewed.

The organization also announced that changes would be coming to their staff to get the organization up to “the professional standards that the company needs.”

Origen was founded in 2015 by xPeke. They came in first in the 2015 European Challenger Series Spring, earning a spot in 2015 European League Championship Series Summer, where they ultimately finished second to Fnatic. Origen went on to win their regional qualifier and went all the way to the semifinals of the 2015 World Championship. The organization has steadily declined since then, finishing second in 2016 Spring, ninth in 2016 Summer, and last in 2017 Spring. They were recently relegated into the Challenger Series after losing to Misfits Academy and Giants Gaming in the 2017 EU LCS Summer Promotion Tournament.
