Overwatch Contenders NA Open Qualifiers top 16 teams includes FaZe, Cloud9, Immortals, CLG, and more

Blizzard’s Overwatch Contenders North America Open Qualifiers finished up its Season Zero last weekend, with over 600 teams signing up to compete.

The competition whittled down participants to the top 16 teams, who will go on to compete in the group stage. Only the teams who finish in the top 8 of the group stage will move on to compete in the Playoffs. Group stage will take place June 18 for North America. A full schedule will be made available at the Overwatch Contenders website closer to date.

The Europe Open Qualifiers will take place on June 10-11, with the EU group stage to follow on June 17. Season Zero has a prize pool of $50,000 per region.

Following the launch of Overwatch Contenders, Blizzard will also host the Overwatch Open Division. This tournament series will take place in “select regions around the world.” The league will start offering emerging teams a path into Overwatch Contenders seasons in 2018. Open Division signups will be open to players at Masters ranks or higher. Blizzard will release more information at a later date.

May 22: NA & EU team registration opens
June 2: NA team registration closes
June 3-4: NA Open Qualifier
June 9: EU team registration closes
June 10-11: EU Open Qualifier
June 17: EU Group Stage
June 18: NA Group Stage
June 24: EU Group Stage
June 25: NA Group Stage
July 1: EU Playoffs (Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Finals)
July 2: NA Playoffs (Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Finals)
