Esports production company Next Generation Esports has announced the Overwatch Winter Premiere, an open-bracket Overwatch tournament with a $100,000 prize pool.

The tournament will start on December 10, where North American Overwatch teams can compete in an online qualifier. The online qualifiers will run for four days. The top 8 teams to emerge from the online qualifier will face each other in a double round-robin format stage that runs for three weeks.

All the online qualifiers and the group stages will be live streamed via Twitch from NGE studios in Burbank, California.

Players who wish to participate can register on the Overwatch Winter website. Entering the tournament is free, and players can sign up to search for a team to join or sign up with an existing team of up to eight players.

In other Overwatch news, yesterday Blizzard announced an upcoming rework of support hero Symmetra. She will be getting two ultimate abilities, one of which provides a mobile shield to block incoming attacks. Symmetra will also be getting an increased number of Sentry Turrets.
