Patriots Injury Report: Gilmore continues to miss time

Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady and tight end Rob Gronkowski were both left off the injury report Wednesday and Thursday and it seems the injuries this week are unsubstantial.

Last week the Pats defeated the New York Jets in a late game come-from-behind victory. Brady was dealing with a shoulder injury that seems to be resolved, as well as Gronkowski’s thigh injury. Both had big games on Sunday.

Four players did not practice on Wednesday as well as Thursday, cornerback Stephon Gilmore (Concussion/Ankle), linebackers Harvey Langi (Back) and Elandon Roberts (Ankle), and defensive back Eric Rowe (Groin).

This Sunday the Patriots will host the Atlanta Falcons at Gillette Stadium during Sunday Night Football. In a game that is a rematch of last season’s Super Bowl, both teams are playing lower quality football than they did last year. Part of the problem has been due to injuries.

There were three Pats players who were limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday: running back Rex Burkhead (Ribs), wide receiver Chris Hogan (Ribs), and offensive lineman Shaq Mason (Shoulder).

Last Sunday the Atlanta Falcons dropped what should have been an easy game against quarterback Jay Cutler and the Miami Dolphins. Both teams got into the end zone twice, but the Dolphins were able to get one more kick through the uprights than the Falcons.

Only one Falcons player did not practice on Wednesday, their kicker Matt Bryant who was out with a back injury. Without him on Sunday, the Falcons will have to focus on getting into the end zone on any position in Patriots territory. However, he did return to the practice field on Thursday.

A few Falcons players were limited in practice this week: linebackers Vic Beasley Jr. (Hamstring), Jermaine Grace (Hamstring), Deion Jones (Quadricep), Duke Riley (Knee), defensive end Takk McKinley (Shoulder), wide receiver Mohamed Sanu (Hamstring), and defensive lineman Courtney Upshaw (Ankle/ Knee).
