Peyton Manning has a new gig with the Denver Broncos, as a 'summer intern' in funny video

The Indianapolis Colts' greatest quarterback of all time has a new football gig.

Hall of Famer Peyton Manning’s new retirement "job" has put him at the center of affairs for his other team. He revealed the Denver Broncos' schedule Wednesday as part of his position as an "intern," demonstrating he hasn't lost his comedy acting skills.

“The Broncos have brought me back and afforded me the opportunity of a lifetime,” Manning joked in a video tweeted Wednesday by the Broncos. He, of course, played for the Colts for 14 seasons before joining the Broncos in 2012 for four seasons, winning his second Super Bowl.

Manning begins the internship video using his powerful arm to deliver the mail.

Wearing a name tag, the 45-year-old "intern" says he is pitching in while everyone is busy preparing for the release of the Broncos 2021 football schedule.

“So I decided I would help out wherever I can,” he says.

Manning scrubs footballs, polishes trophies and treats grass. He flexes his muscles when helping Thunder, the Denver Broncos mascot, perfect awkward spin moves in a chair and he calls out food orders before directing the guys in the equipment room to handle shoulder pads, helmets and cleats.

Manning sure did a lot of delegating for an intern. That might be acceptable when your résumé includes two championships in 18 seasons as an NFL quarterback. Manning the intern mentions his success, having beaten all 32 NFL teams.

While helping out with the phones, he takes a call and recognizes a familiar voice making a crank call.

“Eli, I told you I’m working, don’t bother me,” he tells his brother, 40, who played in the NFL for 16 seasons.

Like any good intern, Peyton Manning had a few mishaps. Footballs in the pool, shrunken jerseys coming out of the dryer. He also takes a few liberties that could get even the best interns fired — putting his feet on desks, taking naps in the office. And he may have missed the detail about the confidential 2021 schedule when he printed it.

But Manning the intern is quite proud of the job he’s doing.

“I think things are going great so far," he said. "I’ve been able to apply my real world experiences and skill set to this internship."

In addition to his "real world experiences," Manning has a number NFL records. He has the most AP MVP awards (5), Pro Bowl appearances (14), 4,000-yard passing seasons (14), single-season passing yards (5,477 in 2013),[6] and single-season passing touchdowns (55 in 2013). Additionally, he is tied for the most most first-team All-Pro selections for a quarterback (7) and is third in career passing yards (71,940) and passing touchdowns (539).

Manning uses the platform to send a message to all the interns out there.

“If you show your hard work and initiative, you just may get rewarded with an important, important job,” he said.
