Report: Cloud9 Overwatch team signs Korean coach Bishop

Cloud9’s Overwatch team has signed on a new coach, Over.gg reports. Former Korean player Lee “Bishop” Beom Joon will be joining the roster as the head coach following a two-week trial period at APEX.

Bishop allegedly joined Cloud9 as trial coach in early February, working with the team to prepare them for their match versus Kongdoo Uncia. Cloud9 lost 2-3 and were eliminated from the tournament.

In an interview with Over.gg, Bishop talked about the relationship.

“Gaining the respect of professional players takes time, and you can’t force your hand on NA players unless you have said respect… coming from a player background definitely helped in that perspective: being able to meet eye to eye with the players and show them that you know and play the game just as well as they can is certainly a factor.”

Cloud9’s current roster is as follows:

  • Lane ”Surefour” Roberts (Flex)

  • Daniel ”GODS” Graeser (Flex)

  • Lucas ”Mendokusaii” Håkansson (Flex)

  • Ruben “ryb” Ljungdal (Tank)

  • Randal “Roolf” Stark (Support)

  • Adam “Adam” Eckel (Support)

Bishop has lived in Korea and the United States, and is fluent in both Korean and English. He formerly played for Team Kongdoo Panthera, most often filling the role of support.

Blizzard released a new set of patch notes for Overwatch recently. The changes are live on the PTR server and includes a notable tweak for Junkrat, as well as minor nerfs to Ana and Orisa.
