League of Legends' creepiest champion, Yorick, gets a remake

One of the most needed reworks in League of Legends is finally happening, Riot Games announced Tuesday. Yorick, the Shepherd of Lost Souls, is coming.

Yorick is still a necromancer, summoning ghouls to bonk his enemies. But now his summoning isn’t quite as clunky as it used to be. His kit is based around the creation of graves (lower-cased g, not Graves the champion, which would be weird), which spawn occasionally when an enemy minion or neutral monster dies near him or when he kills something with his Last Rites (Q). Once he has three or more graves around him, he can recast Last Rites to summon Mist Walkers from said graves.

Once those ghouls are up and running, Yorick can tell them who to attack with his ability Mourning Mist (E), which also slows and does magic damage. To aid the Walkers in getting to his target, there’s his ability Dark Procession (W), which summons a destructible circle of bodies to hold people in place.

Finally, there’s his ult, which calls forth the Maiden of the Mist (and some Walkers at later ranks). If he attacks the same target as the Maiden, he does bonus magic damage based on the enemy’s max health.
