Sixers star Ben Simmons ecstatic to not be involved in James Harden deal

The Philadelphia 76ers were involved in a lot of trade rumors for Houston Rockets star James Harden on Wednesday in which star Ben Simmons was the centerpiece. In order to get a superstar like Harden, one has to give up big talent like Simmons.

However, a trade never materialized. Harden ended up with the Brooklyn Nets because the asking price from Houston was just a bit too steep. At the end of the day, the Sixers still have a roster that can contend for a championship led by Simmons and Joel Embiid and a strong supporting cast of players who play their roles.

For that reason, Simmons is more than happy to still be a member of the Sixers as they move forward.

The Sixers are sitting at 8-4 despite having to rely more on unproven players such as Isaiah Joe and Dakota Mathias due to the league’s health and safety protocols keeping their main pieces sidelined. Philadelphia will take on the Miami Heat on Thursday at home looking to move forward as a team.
