Red Bull has announced the return of the amateur Street Fighter V tournament series Red Bull Proving Grounds.

This year, Proving Grounds will be split into two seasons and take place in 11 North American cities, including Orlando, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver, an increase from six last year. Players will also be able to compete in online tournaments.

Proving Grounds will be split into three phases per season beginning with singles play in the qualifying round. From there players will be placed into East and West regional groups and compete in a 3v3 teams format in the group and championship stage.

The Spring season will run from March to June and three winners from the region and the online tournaments will be flown in to the Red Bull Proving Grounds Finals in Santa Monica in June, where the winning 3-player team will send the top 8 players from its region to compete at Evo 2017.

Fall season will run from July to October and the winning regional team will send its top 8 players to Red Bull Battle Grounds.

Last year, SoCal’s Christopher “NYChrisG” Gonzalez defeated New York’s Kevin “Dieminion” Landon in a tight grand finals set to win Proving Grounds.

You can find more information about registration and for regional and online tournaments on the Red Bull Proving Grounds official site.
