China’s Team WE became the second team to qualify for the knockout stage on Day 4 of the 2017 Mid-Season Invitational with their first 2-0 day at the event. After their match against Flash Wolves, Yahoo Esports caught up with Team WE top laner Ke “957” Changyu to ask about who else he thinks will qualify for the bracket stage and whether he’s the best Kled player in the world.

Congratulations on qualifying for the knockout stage and your first 2-0 day. How are you feeling and how is the team feeling?

I feel really relieved after making it out of groups, but our upcoming games are more important than thinking ahead. We really need to focus on tomorrow and fixing our mistakes.

Fixing your mistakes is something that your teammates have spoken of as well, saying that you were still working on your team cohesion and trust. Since today was the first day you swept your opponents, do you think it has improved now?

I actually think that our communication still isn’t perfect, but it’s better than the past few days. Now that we’ve gradually improved our communication, if we continue that we should be fine.

Your team likes to focus bottom lane a lot. How does this affect your role as a top laner?

Before the teamfights, I just need to make sure that I’m farming as well as I can to prepare and be ahead. When that teamfight comes, I just need to be prepared to initiate the fight for my team.

Since you are more of a primary initiator, do you make those teamfight calls?

I give out recommendations and suggestions. Our shotcallers are mid [Su “Xiye” Hanwei] and jungle [Xiang “Condi” Renjie], so when teamfights come I give a lot of suggestions. But they’re always our shotcallers.

Kled has been such a strong pick in the LPL, and you’ve seen a lot of success on that champion. After your first game against Flash Wolves, some called you one of the best Kled players in the world. Are you the best Kled player in the world?

I’d give my Kled an 80 out of 100. I just really like the champion a lot. I feel really comfortable on him.

Will you ever play your old favorite Morgana top again?

If the meta comes back to a Morgana top meta, I’ll definitely play Morgana top. I sometimes play her in solo queue anyway.

Finally, you have made it out of groups, SKT have made it out of groups. Who else do you see making it to the knockout stage?

TSM and Flash Wolves.
