Team EnVyUs joins Gfinity Elite Series

Team EnVyUs has joined the Gfinity Elite Series, furthering their reach in UK esports. The multi-year agreement will first see Team EnVyUs compete in the upcoming Gfinity Elite Series event at London’s Gfinity Arena that begins on May 26, 2017.

““Following the announcement of the top UK eSports organisations yesterday, we have delivered on our promise to make the world sit up and take more notice of the UK eSports scene by adding Team EnVyUs to the Gfinity Elite Series,” Gfinity CEO Neville Upton said in his statement regarding the event. “Team Envyus are a global eSports powerhouse with an engaged, fanatical following of over 4,000,000 fans. Their pedigree and standing in the global eSports order is unwavering and shows that we are serious about our intention to take eSports in the UK to the next level. We are not only passionate about investing in home-grown players and teams but also ensuring that they have opportunities to compete on the world stage.”

“We’re very excited to be coming to London for the Gfinity Elite Series and setting up teams for CS:GO, Rocket League and Street Fighter V,” Team EnVyUs owner Mike “hastr0” Rufail said in a statement. “We know Gfinity will put on a world-class tournament and we were attracted to the spirit of the Elite Series and the opportunity to discover new talent in Europe and the UK specifically. Elite Series moves Team Envy into new areas, while building our brand, strengthening our player base and showcasing our unique approach to competitive gaming. We hope the fans enjoy watching us develop here.”

The Gfinity Elite Series will include Rocket League, CS:GO, and Street Fighter V. Other organizations confirmed for the event include Reason Gaming, excel eSports, Prophecy, and Infused. With the addition of Team EnVyUs, five of eight total organizations have now been announced for the Elite Series which will run from May to July 2017.
