Josh “Dardoch” Hartnett, Outstanding Rookie of the 2016 NA LCS Spring Split, won’t be starting for Team Liquid as the Summer Split kicks off, Team Liquid announced Friday. Due to “behavioral problems and team dynamics issues,” the organization has chosen to bench the jungler for the first two weeks of the season.

In a statement, both coach Yoonsup “Locodoco” Choi and Liquid co-owner Steve Arhancet stated that the young player’s attitude on the team had become such a problem that his removal — even if temporary — was absolutely necessary. They have brought in a sports psychologist to work on the issues, but will also be looking into a team transfer if the issues aren’t resolved.

For a team that spent much of the last year playing as a singular, unified roster, this could spell doom. Team Liquid is full of young, talented, very emotional players. To succeed, they need to make sure they’re growing together and staying on the same page. It’s going to be difficult to find such a mechanically-gifted jungler as Dardoch. Liquid hasn’t announced who will be replacing him for the first two weeks of the Summer Split.
