Team YP has announced it has signed competitive Super Smash Bros. Wii U player Griffin “Fatality” Miller.

Fatality is a Falcon main who recently finished in second place at 2GGC: Civil War. He is currently ranked 28th in the Panda Global Rankings.

The move marks Team YP’s first Smash acquisition since it signed Jason “Bizzarro Flame” Yoon nearly two years ago.

“[It] feels good to be returning to familiar territory, and we think our fans will appreciate the newest addition as well,” VP of YouPorn Brad Burns said in a statement.

“What’s great about Fatality is that he brings a new kind of energy to the organization. He reminds us a lot of Bizzarro in that way. He’s someone who can hype up his character and the organization in a positive way, all while winning tournaments,” Burns said.

Team YP has had a rough history in competitive gaming. Street Fighter pros Anton “Filipinoman” Herrera and Valentin “Valmaster” Petit were caught in the middle of controversy after Capcom refused to allow Team YP to compete on the Capcom Pro Tour due to it being owned by adult entertainment company YouPorn.

Since then, Filipinoman did not re-sign with Team YP and Valmaster has moved over to competing in Overwatch.

ESL also banned Team YP from competing in its events, preventing it from competing in Mortal Kombat X, League of Legends, Dota 2, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournaments hosted by the company.
