Bandai Namco has released a new Tekken 7 trailer, revealing the game will launch on June 2 for console and PC.

The release date comes a bit later than the “early 2017” window Bandai Namco had originally hoped for Tekken 7, which has been in arcades in Asia for nearly two years now.

However, according to a statement the delay is necessary to ensure the game includes everything the developer had planned.

“We were trying to do everything we could to make that date happen… maybe to scale down on the content in order to make the master release, but in the end we came to the decision that [after] seeing releases from other companies, as well as some of the past of our own, where maybe things weren’t working 100% at launch, or maybe it was missing some content, that’s the kind of thing we wanted to avoid with Tekken 7, so we made a very difficult decision of moving it to June to include all of the original content that we’d originally planned,” Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada told a media gathering in Japan (via IGN.)

Harada appears to be referencing the botched launch of Street Fighter V and wants to avoid a similar situation with Tekken 7.

The new trailer revealed pre-order bonus character Eliza, a vampire first introduced in Tekken Revolution.

Bandai Namco’s official site also detailed Tekken 7’s season pass, which provides access to three content updates that will include new characters, stages, costume packs, and an unannounced game mode.

Xbox One users will receive a free copy of Tekken 6 with the digital purchase of Tekken 7, while PlayStation 4 users will receive exclusive Tekken 2 and 4 legacy costumes for King, Xiaoyu, and Jin, and a Jukebox Mode featuring the series’ classic soundtrack.

In related news, Jin Woo “Saint” Choi became the undisputed Tekken 7 world champion after following up his Evo 2016 win with a victory at the King of Iron Fist Global Final in Japan.
