The next CS:GO Major to be held in Krakow


The second Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major of 2017 has been announced, and it’s going to be held in Krakow, Poland.

Hosted by tournament organizer and production company PGL, the 16-team tournament will begin on July 16 and feature a $1 million prize pool. The teams will include eight invited rosters and eight that will qualify through a series of minor tournaments and a LAN qualifier.

The minor schedule is as follows:

  • June 1-4: Asia Regional Minor Championship

  • June 8-11: CIS Regional Minor Championship

  • June 8-11: Americas Regional Minor Championship

  • June 15-18: Europe Regional Minor Championship

The top two teams from each of the minors will head to the LAN qualifier, where they’ll face off against the bottom eight teams from the ELeague Major that took place in Atlanta back in January. From those 16 teams, half will be drop out of the Major, leaving the remaining eight to head to the group stages.

Eight teams have already qualified for Krakow after earning Legends status from their top eight finish at the ELeague Major:

  • Astralis

  • Virtus.pro

  • Fnatic

  • SK Gaming

  • Natus Vincere

  • Gambit Esports

  • North

  • Faze

The Krakow Major group stages kick off on July 16, with the finals taking place on July 23.
