This Street Fighter EX April Fool’s video is so gorgeous it hurts

Developer Arika has released an April Fool’s video teasing a look at what a new Street Fighter EX-inspired game would look like. It’s a surprisingly detailed video for what is being described by the developer as an April Fool’s joke, featuring returning characters Hokuto, Kairi, and Garuda.

Arika is perhaps best known for its Street Fighter EX series, a spin-off of the main Street Fighter series of games. The developer was co-founded by Street Fighter II creator Arika Nishitani in 1995 and debuted its first title Street Fighter EX in 1996 at Arcades, followed with a PlayStation release in 1997.

The most recent entry in the EX series is Street Fighter EX3, which was released in 2000 for the PlayStation 2. Characters exclusive to the EX series have not appeared in the main Street Fighter games, likely due to copyright restrictions.
