Top laner Skye joins Newbee Gaming
Fan “Skye” Qifang has joined Newbee Gaming’s League of Legends team in compliance with the Chinese regulatory body, L.ACE, according to their weibo.
Skye, formerly a top laner for Team King in 2014 and 2015, a team purchased later by Royal Never Give Up, spent 2016 on the roster of LSPL team ZTR Gaming. According to the announcement, Skye was under trial with Newbee during the transfer period, and they are only just now formalizing his move to the team.
On Team King in the LSPL, Skye gained a reputation as a strong Irelia player and carry top laner. He had difficulty adjusting to the new meta when the team joined the LPL in 2015, and King finished 7th in the league in Spring. On ZTR Gaming, later acquired by Now Or Never, Skye placed 8th and 6th in the LSPL during the 2016 Spring and Summer splits.
Skye played his first game for Newbee against I MAY on March 17 as Renekton.
