UFC on FOX 29 Gate and Attendance From Glendale, Arizona
The UFC Octagon was in Glendale, Arizona on Saturday for UFC on Fox: Poirier vs. Gaethje. 11,382 spectators were in attendance at Gila River Arena for the 14-fight card generating $1,085,712.25 in gate receipts.
Those in attendance and watching on FOX witnessed Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje go to war in the fight card's main event. The two kept a furious pace. Gaethje delivered devastating leg kicks while Poirier repeatedly landed his jab and combinations. Heading into the fourth frame, both fighters were damaged. Early in the round, Poirier landed a counter left hook that staggered Gaethje. Gaethje fired back was on wobbly legs. Poirier delivered a combination that knocked Gaethje and referee Herb Dean stepped in to stop the fight.
In the co-main event, Charles Oliveira submitted former interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit. Most of the action took place on the ground. Oliveira secured a takedown early in the opening frame. Condit reversed the position and took Oliveira's back and worked to lock on a rear-naked choke. In the second round, Condit gain top position after being taken down buy the Brazilian. Oliveira landed an up kick that stunned Condit. Condit looked for a takedown after Oliveira scrambled to his feet and found himself trapped in a guillotine choke.

In middleweight action, rising star Israel Adesanya remained undefeated but went the distance for the first time in his career against Marvin Vettori. Unhappy with his performance, “The Stylebender” asked to be booked for another fight as soon as possible.
Kicking off the main card, women's strawweight Michelle Waterson snapped a two-fight losing streak with a split decision win over Cortney Casey. Waterson used speed to avoid absorbing too many of Casey's power shots. In the second and third rounds, Waterson utilized her wrestling to put Casey on her back and maintain top position. She fended off several submission attempts on her way to her first win since December 2016.
