UPDATE: Jens Hilgers is the former chairman of Turtle Entertainment. The article has been updated to reflect this.

League of Legends coaching website LeagueCoaching.gg has been acquired by DOJO Madness, a company that uses machine learning to create learning tools for esports players.

LeagueCoaching.gg was founded by former Team SoloMid and current G2 coach Weldon Green and LeagueCoaching.gg (then called LoL-Coaching.com) founder Joshua Hilton. The website was founded in 2013 with the intention of serving as a marketplace for esports players to match up with coaches to improve their gameplay.

DOJO Madness was co-founded by industry veteran Jens Hilgers, who previously served as chairman of Turtle Entertainment and ESL. The company will be combining its data-driven information with LeagueCoaching.gg’s platform to better advise coaches. DOJO Madness doesn’t only do analysis for League of Legends, but also for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2.

“Having access to DOJO’s data science team means we will be able to provide coaches with key insights about their athletes, while better assessing coach quality, and also tracking the development of the player, making the entire coaching process more transparent,” Weldon Green said in a press release

LeagueCoaching.gg and DOJO Madness aren’t the only coaching services looking to establish themselves in the pro scene. Mobalytics has also entered the space with their own proprietary tool.
