After it was leaked via PlayStation France’s YouTube channel (where it was called “Insurrection”), Overwatch: Uprising is now live and will run from today until May 1.

The event features a co-op PvE mode in which players will work together as Tracer, Torbjörn, Reinhardt, and Mercy to stop “a rogue group of omnics” called the Null Sector as they attempt to overrun the King’s Row map. In Overwatch lore, this is Tracer’s first mission with the organization, taking place seven years before present day.

The event also brings 10 new skins to Overwatch, as well as new emotes, Play of the Game highlight intros, and sprays. As with any limited time event in Overwatch, the cosmetic items will no longer be available once the event is over. The skins are based on the Overwatch: Uprising comic that was released recently.

Interestingly, the two omnic characters on the Overwatch roster, Bastion and Orisa, will be getting villainous skins featuring their Null Sector looks. The other new skins show off what characters like Tracer, Reinhardt, and Mercy (among others) looked like seven years ago, before the dissolution of the Overwatch squad after the omnic uprising was quelled.

In other Overwatch news, Christopher “Montecristo” Mykles and Erik “DoA” Lonnquist will be casting the Overwatch League and Blizzard considered a cat in a jetpack hero. For more, keep it right here on the Yahoo Esports Overwatch hub.
